SOUND: HON. J. H. MENSAH OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES AGORA GROUP GHANA

The launch of Agora Group Ghana was held in the Frederick Marfour Building at The University of Ghana on Thursday 27th March 2008. The event was attended by members of the University of Ghana student community, representatives from student organisations, representatives from youth groups, members of the press and radio and dignitaries. Our esteemed guests were the Hon. Isaac Amoo who chaired the launch and the guest speaker, Hon. J.H. Mensah who delivered a speech on the ‘Role of the Youth in Ghanaian Policy Development.’

The launch was attended by Martin Adjei-Mensah, Country Director for Agora Group Ghana, Pippa Scott, Head of Environmental Development for Agora Group and Dr Christopher Hill, Executive Director Agora Group/Agora Group Ghana. Martin Adjei-Mensah introduced the session and Dr Christopher Hill delivered a presentation on the origins and development of the Agora Group to the present day.

The Hon. J.H. Mensah delivered a rousing speech regarding the need for the youth of Ghana to actively participate in Ghana’s future by being prepared, taking advantage of education and ensuring they are ready for the task ahead.

After the official launch of Agora Group Ghana by the Hon. J.H. Mensah, representatives from student youth groups and organisations delivered messages of solidarity and outlined their interest and willingness to work with and support Agora Group Ghana in its future endeavours.

The event was a huge success and marks the start of the Agora Group’s involvement in Ghanaian political development and youth involvement.
