THE TOPIC IS TO HELP GET VIEWS ON HOW THE YOUTH CAN BE INVOLVED IN POLICY INTIATIVES AND DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD AS WHOLE.

Why do American's so often refer to democracy when talking about government or government policies? I can't find any mention of democracy in the Declaration of Independence or the. U.S. Constitution.From what I know to be true,we are a Constitutional Limited Republic.As a matter of fact there are many things in the Constitution which are intentionally un-democratic.Electoral College for one,two Senators per state[Wyoming although much smaller than other states has the same number]And there are many other examples I could site.I cringe when I hear the word democracy.
